qigong vs. tai chi
Said to be the grandfather of Tai Chi, Qigong is an energy training method based in Traditional Chinese Medicine that involves coordinated movements, postures, and breathing resulting in meditative poses and actions to balance the qi (‘energy’) of the body, mind, and spirit.
Tai Chi is both an internal and an external martial art. The practice of tai chi can be traditional, slow-motion self-defense or an energetic practice for internal balance and healing.
Be Well Therapies classes are a fusion of multiple styles of the healing Chinese internal arts, including both Tai Chi and Qigong and creating moving meditation. All classes are mind-body practices intended to balance the nervous system and ultimately manage stress. Classes focus on slowly executed postures and emphasize calm breathing.
Classes are suitable for all ages & abilities. Please have a chair to sit in for class, no arm rests are preferred. Participants can sit and stand for class or remain seated for the entire class if preferred.
